Anniversaries and Festivities

At the end of the Tibetan year one of the largest annual pujas, the seven days' Mahakala Puja takes place.
 
Losar (the Tibetan New Year) is celebrated for six days.
 
In one week during the first Tibetan month, Karma Lekshey Ling recites all the volumes of the sutras of Lord Buddha and does extensive Tara pujas and other ceremonies.
 
On April 9th, Choje Lama Phuntsok's birthday is celebrated.
 
On June 26th, that of the 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje's birthday is celebrated.
 
Sojongs (purification ceremonies) are conducted at the Institute twice a month.
 
From the middle of the fifth Tibetan month, the all the monks of the monastery goes into Yarney (summer retreat) for three months.
 
They conduct public discourses and debates at Gagyey (end of the retreat) .
 
Apart from this, Karma Leksheyling holds other festivities as well.
